Not only can it be expensive, but preparing for the move to college can be very stressful and a financial burden. The Trunks for College Project was implemented to help relieve those costs. We encourage people to donate the needed items that students living in the dorms would need and that would help provide comfort and meet their essential needs.
Written or Video Essay
The essay is an important part of our application because it provides us with the opportunity to understand who you are and how our service will impact your education. Whether or not you provide a written or video essay please be creative and present a picture of who you are and your aspirations.
Written Essay Topic

Eligibility Criteria
1. Must be graduating from a Public Greater Houston-Metropolitan area high school.
2. Must be a first time College Freshman officially accepted, enrolled or planning to enroll full-time during the upcoming school year.
3. Must live on campus in an assigned dormitory or university apartment
4. Must complete Award Application by deadline and include the following proof of attendance: Letter of Acceptance, housing assignment or contract.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to cost, Highest Degree is unable to ship trunks. Recipients will be required to pick up trunks at a designated location.

Application Guidelines
Recipients awarded a Trunk for College will receive the following:
Footlocker Trunk (w/ lock)
Bedding (Twin XL Sheet set)
Pillow (standard size)
Mattress protectors
Floor Rug
Bath Room Accessories (Towels, Shower Caddy, bath rug, Shower Shoes)
Shower Curtain
Personal Care Items (bath soap, tooth paste, tooth brush, personal hygiene items, razors, shampoo, toilet paper)
Cleaning Supplies (dish washing detergent, comet, broom, swifer mop, paper towel)
Laundry Supplies
Class Supplies
Food Storage & utensils
